The Museum All Firearm Enthusiasts Should Visit
Crazy times we live in, wouldn’t you say? Now with all this talk of who’s going to be the next President of the United States, we are poised to experience even more craziness in the coming months. There will be talking heads on the TV and instruments with pens tooting their own horns on blogs and in newspapers.
One topic of great importance they’ll be talking about will be firearms (when is it really not?) and there will be extremes on both sides, and chances are you’ll hear things you might not want to hear – but before we all fall into that rigorous rabbit hole, let’s take a break and enjoy firearms, their cultural significance, and their robust history. Thankfully there’s a place where you can get all of that done: the National Firearms Museum.
J.B. Kaspar of the Reading Eagle writes, “If you are a shooter, firearms collector or hunter, you are no stranger to the National Rifle Association, the leading gun owner’s organization in the country with more than six million members. The NRA headquarters, located in Fairfax, Va., also is home to The National Firearms Museum, a 15,000-square-foot facility that houses 15 galleries composed of 85 exhibit cases that display 3,000 firearms. The museum is a journey through the 700-year history of firearms from the early beginnings to present day.”
Sounds like quite the adventure, doesn’t it? Visiting the National Firearms Museum is definitely a weekend trip, if not more. With 85 exhibit cases and all those firearms, stepping through the doors of the museum is like you’re stepping into a time machine and traveling through some of the coolest moments in the history of firearms. Surely, it will reaffirm your belief in firearms and should provide you some fond memories as you hunker down and prepare for yet another political season.
